Hyder Family Hospice House is now open

In March 2007, Seacoast Hospice realized a long-time goal and opened the doors of its newly built inpatient hospice facility, the Hyder Family Hospice House. It is the newest and largest hospice house in New Hampshire. To date, we have provided care at the hospice house for well over 100 patients and their families.

Seacoast Hospice would like to acknowledge the generous support of the community who helped us reach our goal.

YEAR OF ANNIVERSARIES FOR SEACOAST HOSPICE!

This year we have lots to celebrate. Not only do we mark the one-year anniversary of the opening of the Hyder Family Hospice House, but also this year marks our 30th anniversary of providing compassionate, end-of-life care to people in our community.

There are lots of ways to show your support of Seacoast Hospice. For more information contact the Development Office
at 800-416-9207

In honor of our 30th, there will be a remembrance board that will be unveiled at our 12th annual golf tournament on June 27th. Remember a loved one by donating $30.00 to the remembrance board! Be sure to tell us how you'd like their name to be posted. For more information please go to: http://www.seacoasthospice.org/events/fundraising.cfm

SEACOAST HOSPICE RECEIVES A DONATION
FROM LOCAL WAL-MART
$5,000 Donation Will Boost
Local Charitable Organization

The Wal-Mart Foundation will be making a $5,000 donation to Seacoast Hospice on Friday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m. Kevin Robinson, Wal-Mart Marketing Manager, along with Portsmouth Store Manager Brian Malo, will present the check to Susan Cole, CEO of Seacoast Hospice. Also joining them will be NH Speaker of the House Terie Norelli.

Founded by volunteers in 1978, Seacoast Hospice is the oldest and only independent, non-profit hospice in New Hampshire and provides compassionate and expert medical care to children, adults, seniors, and families coping with life-limiting illnesses.

Its team of physicians, registered nurses, licensed nursing assistants, social workers, bereavement coordinators, and trained volunteers collaborate to provide extensive services for patients in their own homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and at Seacoast Hospice's Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, New Hampshire. Seacoast Hospice relies on private and corporate funding to provide its services to everyone - regardless of ability to pay.

Wal-Mart believes in a philosophy of operating globally and giving back locally. In 2006, Wal-Mart Stores and Sam's Club gave $1,376,182 in cash and in-kind donations to local causes and organizations in the communities they serve in the state of New Hampshire. Through additional funds raised through stores and Clubs throughout the state, Wal-Mart contributed and raised a grand total of $2,227,989 as a result of its presence in New Hampshire.
