Volunteer Training Overview
Direct Care
Direct care volunteers are required to attend a series of training sessions scheduled over several weeks that total 30+ hours. Trainings are scheduled on an as-needed basis. If you've been trained as a volunteer at a different hospice, you can also volunteer at Seacoast Hospice provided your training reflects adequate documentation. Teens aged 16-19 are also trained by Seacoast Hospice to work with hospice patients. We request a minimum of a year commitment, and between one and four hours of service per week. Please note: while we make every effort to place you, this will fluctuate based on patient census and demographics.
Indirect Care
For those volunteers who wish to provide indirect service such as administrative and fundraising, a four-hour orientation is required.
