Seacoast Hospice Mission and Philosophy

Seacoast Hospice Mission Statement

To provide comprehensive physical, emotional, and spiritual care for individuals and families promoting the highest quality of living during life-limiting illness and bereavement.

Seacoast Hospice Philosophy

Death is a universal fact of life and, whether or not it is accompanied by disease, dying is a natural process. We believe that every person is entitled to participate fully in this stage of life.

Hospice is an option in the medical care system. Emphasis is placed on pain management and symptom relief. This can be accomplished with the use of our special skills and therapies. Staff members address and support the emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Death is not denied, but life is affirmed and lived until death comes.

We believe that we are all dependent on one another. Therefore, it is crucial in the last few months of life to develop a caring community that can provide comprehensive services to patients and their families.
