The Seacoast Hospice Difference

Founded by volunteers in 1978, Seacoast Hospice remains an independent, non-profit hospice. We provide care and support for patients and families who have been affected by a life-limiting illness in Rockingham and Strafford Counties in New Hampshire and surrounding communities.

Seacoast Hospice is a true community hospice and responds to community needs. The philanthropy of people in the community allows all of our resources to support patient care and programs that benefit any grieving person. We respond immediately and provide services to everyone — regardless of age or ability to pay — and offer free programs in the community. The community supports us through the generosity of donations and by volunteering.

Seacoast Hospice focuses exclusively on-end-of-life issues, so each patient benefits from an experienced team of specialized caregivers: physicians, nurses, licensed nursing assistants, social workers, spiritual care coordinators, bereavement coordinators, homemakers and trained volunteers to help patients and families with the specific challenges of coping with terminal illness.

Your team of caregivers is trained to provide the care you need in your setting. We serve you wherever you are — at home, in the hospital, in an assisted living facility or nursing home. We also offer the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, NH to serve patients who are unable to remain in their own homes. You are able to keep your primary care physician and together, we will provide the expert care needed to support you through this time of life.

Each patient and family has different needs, so each treatment plan is unique. Seacoast Hospice services includes expert comfort care that alleviates pain, suffering, and anxiety and promotes the highest quality of life possible. We also offer a pre-hospice program to help patients and families cope with the changes and events that accompany a prognosis of a life-limiting illness.

"Seacoast Hospice gives me the strength and support to go on. Some people are lonely and don't know where to turn. Some people are private. I was very private-didn't want to discuss it with anyone. But then I realized I can't do this alone. Now I just pick up the phone and someone is here."
